UbD

Wiggins and McTighe (2006) created an Understanding by Design, UbD, template that uses a three-stage process.  Stage 1 is the Desired Results, Stage 2 is Assessment Evidence and Stage 3 is the Lesson Planning.   As I compared Fink's 3 Column Table with this UbD template, I was more comfortable with the Ubd design.  Even though, it is called a backward design, it allowed me to select a Science objective and detailed it with strong questions for teachers to follow.  An advantage of this design is that teachers can develop their own on a selected objected and then they can discussed what each one had in each stage.  They can share and extend the teaching questions, assessments and activities. This format is easy to follow and it can be modified as each teacher sees it fit.  This format allowed me to fill each section with numerous questions, assessments and activities.  I have included the two documents where my UbD template can be viewed.
